Ladue Publications National Awards 2023-2024

For the first time ever, the Panorama won Best of Show in the nation for newsmagazine at the Journalism Education Association’s national convention in fall 2023 in Boston. And then again, at the spring 2024 convention in Kansas City, Panorama won Best of Show in the nation. The 2023 Panorama was named All-American with five marks of distinction by the National Scholastic Press Association.Panorama was also named a Silver Crown winner by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. 

The Rambler yearbook placed seventh in the nation at the Journalism Education Association’s national convention in fall 2023 in Boston, and then came back to win Best of Show in the nation at the spring 2024 convention in Kansas City. The 2023 Rambler was named All-American with five marks of distinction by the National Scholastic Press Association. Rambler was named a Pacemaker Finalist by the National Scholastic Press Association for the second time in Ladue history. Rambler was also named a Silver Crown winner by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. 

The ID Feature Magazine made its national debut this spring at the 2024 National Journalism Convention in Kansas City, taking home Best of Show its first time competing. The editors in chief of ID (Mac Huffman, Rory Lustberg and Annie Zhou) also won an Innovation Pacemaker for creating this publication for the Ladue community.

The Melodrama Literary Magazine placed fifth in the nation at the Journalism Education Association’s national convention in fall 2023 in Boston, and then placed second in the nation at the JEA spring 2024 national convention in Kansas City. Melodrama also took home a Pacemaker Award for Literary Magazine from the spring 2024 National Journalism Convention.

Laduepublications.com placed eighth in the nation at the Journalism Education Associations national convention in spring 2024 in KC. This was web’s first time competing at nationals.

National Scholastic Press Association Individual Awards Presented in Boston in Fall 2023

  • Olivia Chen earned 5th place in the National Artist of the Year competition. 
  • Vincent Hsiao earned an Honorable Mention in the National Photographer of the Year competition. 
  • Rory Lustberg earned an Honorable Mention in the National Writer of the Year competition. 
  • Annie Zhao placed 3rd in Literary Magazine Design with “Weather Like Feelings.”
  • Arti Jain and Rory Lustberg placed 4th in News Story of the Year with “Under Fire.
  • Allen You placed 4th in Feature Story of the Year with “Torn from Home.”
  • Olivia Hu and Erica Shi earned an Honorable Mention in Newsmagazine Cover Design with “The Teen Issue.”
